I would like to thank the team at Lightning energy for making our battery install and solar expansion a relatively smooth journey. Kale, our main contact since the time we visited their office in Malvern, is very knowledgeable and has helped resolved the numerous questions I had. There wasn't any pushing of particular products or designs unlike some installers out there, and there were reasonable options laid out when discussing different topics. I have had other installers tell me to "just install a battery, adding extra solar is pointless", and Lightning energy wasn't one of them. Another detail that people sometimes gloss over - Lightning energy's quote states the expected ROI of the system, which I found realistic according to my software modelling and running the numbers. Every other installer was overly optimistic in this area. The eventual quote was very reasonably priced considering they have a physical store to maintain and don't do online quotes and do appointments instead. From quote to installation day was about 6 weeks. The system we had installed was a 18kWh Sigenergy battery with full home backup, 10kW inverter, 7 Aiko 495W panels, and rewired the existing 2kW solar as a 2nd string. The installers, Min and his team were professional, tidy and efficient, taking 1.5 days to complete the install even with interruptions due to the weather. Since the system was installed and commissioned, there have been no issues so far. There is also peace of mind that Lightning energy can help with diagnostics and have direct contact with Sigenergy should things need to be escalated. To sum up, I'm a happy and satisfied customer!

After deciding to 'go solar' I wanted Australian Made solar panels. There is only one company in Australia that manufactures solar panels - that company is Tindo (in SA). I asked them to recommend a Melbourne based company to do the installation of the complete solar system. They put me onto Lightning Energy. This recommendation has ended up being totally brilliant. From day one to the very last day the trades people were all very competent, very polite and courteous and also very organised and clean. I have a mostly Australian Made system, the only exception being the Tesla battery. The HVAC and hot water Heat Pump are also Australian Made. All of this was handled with great communication from the office staff at Lightning Energy. Thank you Lightning Energy ...... I would recommend them to anyone thinking about going solar. I received several quotes from different solar and battery installers, but some seemed unrealistically cheap and were offering lower-quality systems. After speaking with Josh and his team at Lightning Energy and comparing their quote with the others, I decided to go with them and I'm really glad I did. Going into this, I knew nothing about solar or battery systems. Josh took the time to explain everything clearly and presented a few different options that suited my home and energy needs. There was never any pressure to overspend or be upsold, just honest advice and a system that was right for me. They also supplied and installed an EV charger that integrates seamlessly with the solar and battery system, making everything work together perfectly. The quote was accurate, transparent, and there were no hidden costs or surprises along the way. A big shout out also goes to the installation team, led by Matt. They were professional, friendly, and incredibly hardworking throughout the entire installation. They arrived on schedule, kept me informed of their progress, and completed the installation on my double-storey home in just two days. Their workmanship was first class, and they left everything neat and tidy once the job was finished. The system has been performing flawlessly. During the day, my home is powered by solar and the battery, and I only draw electricity from the grid overnight to take advantage of the cheaper off-peak tariffs to charge my battery and EV. The system has been set up exactly how I wanted it, and it's already making a huge difference to my electricity costs. A huge thank you to Josh, Matt, and the entire Lightning Energy team. Their knowledge, honesty, workmanship, and customer service were exceptional from start to finish. If you're looking for a quality solar, battery, and EV charger installation, I highly recommend Lightning Energy.

We have had an EV charger installed by the Lightning Energy team first 30 months ago, then a heat-pump hot-water and split-system AC supplied & installed in March '26, and now a whole home rooftop solar and battery system supplied & installed. All communications have been clear, prompt and relevant. The advice given has been excellent while not over-catering to our requirements. They have worked hard to keep the systems affordable with all relevant rebates, and the installation work has been effective, careful and tidy.

1. I met with Lightning Energy at their show room and they were able to answer all the questions i had and then they sent me a quote with all my questions addressed. 2. They gave me a date for the installation and they met the date. 3. The installers were very professional and answered questions I had during the install. 4. The installation was done without any problems. 5, The install includes a battery which is really a must and we have seen the benefit already just in the few weeks we have had the system running 6. So far the system is meeting our expectations.
